Memorial

On the morning of January 27, 2021, Roselyn Louise (Wilder) Scheidler passed away quietly at her home with her family by her side. She was an only child, born in the kitchen of her childhood home on October 23, 1925 to Esther E. (Tipton) and Charlie B. Wilder in Mitchell, Nebraska. Those who knew and loved her called her "Bobbie,” a teenage nickname, or "Munner,” a name given to her by her grandchildren. She was married to Calvin W. Scheidler in March of 1947 in Denver. Calvin passed away in December of 1997. Roselyn worked for the Colorado National Bank in Denver as a young woman and then in later years as a paraprofessional for Jefferson County School District in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, as her children were growing. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greeley. She was the confidant of every member of her family, who will greatly miss her unconditional love, support and ability to take the time to listen. She knew the right words and just how to "be there” for the family she loved so much as they were her true passion. Roselyn was a gifted writer and shared that gift with her ten great grandchildren as she wrote each one of them a special poem after their births. She also wrote creative stories about the adventures of various animals, one was a story about two lions named Titus and Tilley. Each year, she wrote new chapters of the story of Titus and Tilley which were read at the start of each new school year to the children at Lochbuie Elementary School, where one of her daughters was principal. Although not formally trained, she also was a talented artist and loved to draw and china paint. Her family will treasure her sense of humor and adventure, as well as her funny made up words which always brought many laughs to family gatherings. An adventurous spirit, she was always willing to participate in any family activity or road trip she was asked to join. Her greatest joy was her family. Her home, a true forever home, where she lived in the garden level at her daughter and son-in-law’s home, was of their own design and it became the hub of many family gatherings and family pictures. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law; Susan (and John) Townsend and Shirley (and Doug) Wentz, four grandchildren; Jeff (and Claire) Townsend (Jeff was born on her birthday), Kristen (and Todd), Jennifer (and Josh) Bridges, and Kevin Wentz. She had ten great grandchildren: Caitlin and Noah Townsend, Aleah, Addie, Lily, Nathaniel and Hannah Bridges, and Mia, Ellie and Aden Wentz. In addition to her daughters and their husbands, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she is survived and will be deeply missed by special cousins, their families and friends including Janet and Warren Gifford, Kathy Rosdail, Bill Moore, Jackie Lorenz, Margaret O’Connell, and many more. Her two dogs were devoted to her and will miss her very much. She would always say, "so long” instead of goodbye when talking on the phone to others because it seemed so final. So, "So long, Munner, until we see you again!” She leaves a legacy of unconditional love and that love will shine through her family forever. Donations can be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children in care of Adamson Life Celebration Home 2000 47th Ave. Greeley, CO 80634. Private family services to be held.
