James "Jim" Leland Hauer
November 4th, 1932 - September 5th, 2007
Jim L. Hauer was born in Grover, CO to Carl Alfred and Charlotte Anna (Roberts) Hauer. Mr. Hauer was raised on a farm in Carpenter, WY, where he attended school. He worked in the fields and helped milk cows as a young man. The Hauer family moved to Hereford, CO in 1941. Mr. Hauer loved riding horses when he was a child. As a young adult he lived in California where he worked on an assembly line in a car factory. Later, Mr. Hauer purchased a truck line from an uncle in Grover. His love of truck driving extended throughout his life. Mr. Hauer played on a baseball team with the children’s grandfather. He loved playing baseball with his children. On March 15, 1986 Jim married Jean Knapp at the Hereford Church. Survivors: wife, Jean Hauer of Hereford, CO; daughters, Deborah Hauer of Boulder, CO, Vonnie Wignall and husband William of Bend, OR, Vickie Hindman of Greeley, and Dawn Hauer and husband Dan Parker of Greeley, CO; sons, Steven Hauer and wife Jan of Grover, CO, and Kevin Hauer and wife Sheryl of Carpenter, WY. He is also survived by brothers, Carl Hauer Jr., of Greeley, and Charles Hauer of Merino, CO; sister Betty Thompson of New Raymer, CO.; numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by: parents, Carl and Charlotte Hauer; son, James; daughter, Valerie; sister, Irene Shepperd; brothers, Donald and Ralph Hauer; half brother, John Hauer; first wife, Barbara. Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday September 8, 2007 at Hereford Community Church in Hereford, CO. Interment: The Home of the Peace Cemetery, Grover, CO. Note: Memorial Contributions may be made to the Jim Hauer Memorial Fund in c/o Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services 827 5th St., Greeley, CO 80631.
