Betty Jane Sullivan
November 23rd, 1922 - October 7th, 2007
Betty Jane Sullivan was born in Rochester, New York to William and Edna (Spencer) Ambrose. She graduated from Jefferson High School in Rochester. She married William Sullivan on April 13, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia where he was stationed in the Army. To this union three children were born. They resided in Rochester, New York until moving to Windsor, CO in 1977. Mrs. Sullivan was an active member of church most of her life. Over the years, she volunteered in many ways including teaching others to read and assisting residents of a nursing home to participate in activities and crafts. She was always helping someone whenever she could. She loved watching John Wayne movies and musicals, genealogy, and participating in a church choir. She moved to McCook in 1998. Before her stroke in September 2001 she enjoyed many activities at the senior center and the United Methodist Church in McCook. She resided at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook until her death. Mrs. Sullivan died Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at Community Hospital in McCook, NE. Survivors: Daughters, Maureen Giorgione and husband Pietro of McCook, Nebraska, Charlene Schwartz and husband Michael of Spencerport, New York; son, Thomas Sullivan and wife Mary of Lyons, New York; brothers John Ambrose and wife Trudy of Houston, Texas, Fred Ambrose of Rochester, New York; sister-in-law Helen Ambrose of Sumner, Washington; former daughter-in-law Louisa Leeson of Rochester, New York; 8 grandchildren, Suzanne Pierson and husband Rob of Culbertson, Nebraska, Pietro Giorgione and wife Meghan of Fort Collins, Franco Giorgione and friend Heidi McMains of Fort Collins, Lynn Ehrne and husband Ken of Rochester, New York, Eric Sullivan and friend Melissa VanShaick of Rochester, New York, Patrick Schwartz and wife Trina of Brockport, New York, Melanie Schwartz of Buffalo, New York, Matthew Schwartz and wife Annik of Riverview, Florida; 9 great-grandchildren, Giuseppe, Montana and Adelina Wilcox , Ariana Pierson, Franco Jr. and Giovanni Giorgione, Michael Ehrne, Cassandra and Hunter Schwartz, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: Her husband; 2 infant children; parents; brothers, Lincoln and Robert Ambrose. Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2007 Adamson West Chapel Visitation: 8:00a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October13, 2007 Adamson West Chapel.
