Joyce Winifred Reichert

Joyce Winifred Reichert, 82, of Johnstown, passed away May 5, 2021 at Medical Center of the Rockies. She was born October 13, 1938 at the family home in Johnstown to Frank Oliver and Elsa (Weickum) Farlow where she grew up and attended schools. Joyce graduated from Johnstown High School in 1956 and began course work to work with Merrill-Lynch. She went on to work for Boetcher in Greeley, helping on the farm with her father and later her husband. She most recently worked for Hays Market in Johnstown, retiring as a manager with more than 30 years. Joyce married Donald Lee Reichert on January 23, 1965 at her parent’s home in Johnstown. They celebrated 24 years before his untimely death in 1989. In her younger years, Joyce was on a bowling league, played golf and had a large garden on the farm which allowed her to provide canned goods, make sauerkraut and also homemade noodles. She was an avid reader and like crossword puzzles. Joyce was a member of Faith Lutheran Church for many years. Thankful to have shared her life include her four sons; Ron (Rachel), Keith (Rhonda), Fred (Julie) and Charlie, grandchildren; Katie, Elsa, Paul, Emma, Bryn and Brooke Reichert, step-grandchildren; Randy Calvin and Kayla Lucas as well as her brother, James "Jim” Farlow. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Joyce’s family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 13 at the Johnstown Cemetery with a reception following at Faith Lutheran Church, Johnstown.
