Marquita Ann Austin

Marquita Ann Austin, 87, of Greeley passed away May 19, 2021 at Fairacres Manor. She was born November 22, 1933 in Rosston, OK to Rex Thomas and Esther Georgia (Walker) Moore. She grew up in Laverne, OK where she graduated from high school. On May 26, 1956, she married Robert Lewis Austin in Denver. The family moved to Greeley in 1972. Marquita worked in advertising for the Greeley Tribune for many years and also worked as a jewelry broker with her husband. She enjoyed putting puzzles together, crossword puzzles, gambling at Central City and Blackhawk. They were members of the Greeley Elks and Moose Lodge and she attended St. Mary Catholic Church. Survivors include her sons; Mark Austin of Longmont and Rex (Michelle) Austin of Greeley, granddaughter, Laura King and grandson, Robert Austin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter-in-law, Maria Guadalupe Austin. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 1 at Adamson with Recitation of the Rosary to begin at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 2 at St. Mary Catholic Church with a reception to follow at Adamson.
