Edwin Durham Hill, 88, of Johnstown passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021 in Greeley. He was born December 20, 1932 in Wentworth, Missouri to Basil James and Beula Pearl (Durham) Hill. Ed grew up in southwest Missouri and graduated from Granby High School in Granby, Missouri. On March 29, 1953 he married Marah Jane McWethy in Neosho, Missouri. Ed served as a submariner in the U.S. Navy from January 28, 1953 to August 31, 1955 when he was honorably discharged. Ed worked as an Electrical and Nuclear Engineer for Public Service Company of Colorado in various positions including Plant Manager at Fort St. Vrain Nuclear Generating Station in Platteville. He also worked for MAC Consulting in Kansas, Alabama, Yugoslavia and Croatia before he retired. Ed enjoyed being in the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and training bird dogs; English Pointers and German Short Hair Pointers. They are members of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnstown and have also attended St. John the Evangelist, Loveland. He is also a member of Ducks Unlimited and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Survivors include his wife, Jane, children; Judy (Dave Huckins) Hill, Janice (Mario) Herrera, Jeff (Renea), Jim (Nicole), Joan (Brian) Hill-Krayenhagen and John (Julia), 12 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild as well as a brother, David Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Lola Bakke, Roger Hill and Margaret Coffee. Private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Johnstown. Inurnment Fort Logan National Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to "St. John the Baptist Catholic Church” in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.
