Richard Henry Hergert

Richard Henry Hergert, 76, passed away on August 29, 2021, in Greeley, Colorado. Richard was born May 31, 1945, to Henry and Mollie (Felte) Hergert in Greeley. Richard attended Windsor schools and was active in sports, graduating in 1964. He enrolled at Colorado State University and was active in Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and other activities. Richard graduated in 1968 with a degree in Animal Nutrition. He then pursued his Master’s degree in Beef Cattle nutrition at the University of California, Davis. Upon graduation, he was employed by Purina Foods and later founded Hergert Nutritionist Services as a consulting animal nutritionist. Richard also founded Henry’s Meats. Richard was an avid golfer and loved the Colorado Rockies, skiing, watching golf, football and the Indianapolis 500. He was active in the Lions Club, Rotary, Lyceum, Inc - Executive Producer and many other Colorado clubs and interests. Richard was the grandson of Godfret and Eva (Feit) Hergert Jr. and Christian and Mollie (Schott) Felte. Survived by his sister Shirley (Cliff) Polk and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; son Sean Hergert and brothers Donald E. and Wilbert Dean Hergert. A Life Celebration will be announced at a later date.
