Gilda F. Specht

Gilda F. Specht, 82, of Greeley passed away peacefully on January 3rd, 2022 in Greeley CO. She was born June 11th, 1939 to Gilman Goettsch and Martha Goettsch (Kock) in Marshalltown, Iowa. Gilda grew up in Beaman, IA and graduated from Beaman High Consolidate School in 1957. She then met Donald Wayne Specht and the two married on June 6th, 1957 in Gladbrook, Iowa. The couple then moved to Brush, CO in 1973 where she worked in the banking industry for over 25 years before opening her clothing store "Gilda’s Fortee Fashion’s” on Main Street. In her free time Gilda enjoyed many hobbies. She liked to play bridge, read, crafts, and especially spending time with her family. She enjoyed traveling alongside her husband, Donald. The pair took many trips around the world together. They visited Hawaii for 18 years in a row, visited their cabin in Estes often, and many other trips. She was involved with many organizations including The Brush Chamber, Brush Museum Board, East Morgan County Hospital Auxiliary Board, Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, Red Hats, and the American Business Women’s Association. Gilda is survived by her husband Donald W. Specht; Children, Randy Specht and wife Kim of Greeley, CO and Valerie Love of Greeley, CO, grandchildren; Allison Michael and husband Payton of Greeley, CO, Abby Love of Greeley, CO, Matthew Specht and wife Jada of Eaton, Colorado, and Shelly Dilley and husband Tyler of Greeley, CO, great grandchildren; Sawyer Dilley, Dax Specht, Zoe Michael, Malyn Michael and Charli Michael, siblings; Joel Goettsch and wife Kathy of Iowa, She is preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers Monte and Gary. A Life Celebration Memorial will take place 11 a.m. Monday January 10th, 2022 at Adamson Life Celebration Home.
