Jean Pearl Knespel
April 21st, 1907 - August 19th, 2010
Jean Pearl Knespel, 103, of Greeley passed away August 19, 2010 at Bonell Good Samaritan Community in Greeley. Jean was born April 21, 1907 in Belleville, KS to Thomas and Pearl (Berry) Doctor. When she was 11 the family moved to the Grover, Co area where they owned a ranch. She graduated from Grover High School, attended the University of Wyoming, and Colorado Normal, now the University of Northern Colorado. On August 15, 1931 she married Robert Beemer in Kansas City, MO. They moved to Colorado in 1937. Mr. Beemer died in 1943. On March 14, 1952 she married Emil Knespel. He died in 1977. Jean worked in the family restaurant for several years and then worked in retail until retiring. She enjoyed gardening, reading crossword puzzles, playing bingo and long walks. She loved the Lord and was an avid Bible reader. She was proud of her extended family and looked forward to their visits. She recently had the joy of meeting for the first time her great-great grandson at a get together of five generations. She was a longtime member of First Congregational Church UCC, member of group 2-9, and Railroad Workers Auxiliary. She also enjoyed volunteering at the church. Survivors are her daughters, Naomi Brungard of Greeley, Nada Morris of Monument, Co; granddaughters, Kathie (Greg) Holmes of Greeley, Kristine (David) Keddington of Anchorage, AK, Vikki Babich of Ft. Collins, CO; granddaughter in-law, Teri Brungard of Normal, IL; grandson, Donald (Linda) Morris of Greeley; nine great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. Also step grandchildren, Cindy Knespel and Jody (James) Wiedenkeller of Greeley, Mike Knespel of Denver, CO; five step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband’s, Robert and Emil; parents; sisters, Doris Simpson and Kathryn Mackey; brother, Donald Doctor; grandson, Ronald Brungard; son in-laws, Donald Brungard and Ronald Morris; stepson, Jerry Knespel; and step grandson, Jerry Allen Knespel. Private family services will be held at a later date.
