Robert "Bob" Dean Lutz

Robert Dean Lutz, 79, of Greeley, CO passed away September 2, 2010 at Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado. Bob was born August 11, 1931 in Greeley to Alex and Esther (Foos) Lutz. He grew up and attended schools in Greeley, graduating from Greeley High School in 1950. Immediately after graduation he joined the US Navy serving four years during the Korean War spending time in Japan. Bob was stationed out of San Diego on the Admiral Staff as a radio man. On January 8, 1955 he married LaVerne Anderson in Colorado Springs, CO. Bob worked for Mountain Bell for 36 years from 1954 – 1990 when he retired. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and snowmobiling with his favorite places being Steamboat Springs, CO and Flaming Gorge, UT. He liked traveling to Arizona and Nevada to spend the winter. He loved the time spent with family and especially his grandchildren. Bob was a member of the Moose Lodge. He is survived by his wife, LaVerne; daughters, Cindy (Mark) McPhee, Linda (Randy) Sorensen; grandchildren Brooke (Grover) Clifton and Travis McPhee all of Greeley; brother, Gale (Alice) Lutz of Arvada, CO and sister, Janice Trenary. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wayne Lutz, and sisters, Alleen Tregoning and Janet Nace. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
