Darlene S. Ward

Darlene Ward, 80, of Greeley, CO died September 10, 2010 at Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado. Darlene was born August 11, 1930 in Weld County, CO to Peter J. and Ferol (Kimbrel) Stoll. She grew up in Greeley and graduated from Greeley High School in 1948. She went on to the Greeley Beauty School and became a licensed beautician. She opened the "Beauty Haven” in Eaton, Co which she owned and operated for more than 50 years. On June 5, 1949 she married Harlan Ward in Greeley. Darlene enjoyed country life and lived on the same farm for her entire adult life. She was a member of Eaton Twilight Club and La Grange Country Club. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. Her family will remember her as a loving mother and grandmother. Darlene is survived by her daughters, Sherri (Doug) Hood of Greeley, Darlinda (Charles) Doles of Cedaredge, CO; grandchildren, Heidi Hood of Greeley, Mandee Hood and fiancé, Zac Wagner of Fort Collins, CO, Perry Hood of Greeley, Jennifer (Jeff) Russell of Magnolia, TX, Justin (Sally) Doles of Thornton, CO; great granddaughter, Chesnie Russell of Magnolia; daughter-in-law, Annette Ward of Greeley; and special friend, Ron Pearce of Center, CO. She is preceded in death by her husband; son, Jerry Ward; parents; grandson, James Ward, infant grandson; sister, Norma (Ray) Schaub; and brother, Leon Stoll. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Adamson Chapel. Interment will be at Linn Grove Cemetery.
