Glen W. Poage, 84, of Greeley CO passed away October 10, 2010 at Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado. Glen was born June 22, 1926 in Torrington, WY to True and Vera (Woolever) Poage. He grew up on a farm in Torrington. In 1940 Glen moved to Greeley by himself and began working for John Brady running drag lines and digging basements. In 1961 he bought his first crane and formed Poage Crane Service which he operated until he retired in 1996. On June 11, 1948 he married Kathleen Meyer in Greeley. He and Kay were married for 62 years and still lived in the same home since 1967. Glen had a love for horses. He bought his first horse in 1964 and had horses ever since. He raised appaloosas and in 2000 began caring for miniature horses. Glen was proud of all he accomplished. In addition to raising horses he enjoyed spending time with family and loved to travel in their motor home especially to Brownsville, TX and St. Louis MO. Glen is survived by his wife, Kay; daughter Jill Peper; and grand dog Ruthie. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jean; parents; and brothers, David and Harvey Poage. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 15, 2010 at Adamson Chapel.
