Ella Magnuson

Ella Magnuson, 84, of Greeley, CO passed away October 23, 2010 at her residence in Greeley. Ella was born March 12, 1926 in Kersey, CO to Henry and Emilie (Rahm) Scheller. She grew up in Kersey and graduated from Platte Valley High School in 1944. Upon graduating she attended cosmetology school in Denver. On June 12, 1947 she married Alf Magnuson in Raton, NM. Ella worked for Martin’s Salon in Greeley and owned and operated the "Hair Shack” with her daughter, Barbara. She also owned and managed A & W Root Beer stands in Eaton, CO, Sterling, CO, Fort Lupton, CO, Cheyenne, WY, and Lake Tahoe, CA for 25 Years. Family was everything to Ella, and she cherished time spent with them. She loved cooking, baking, and her animals. She always established a special relationship with each of her hair clients. Ella loved baseball, especially the Colorado Rockies. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Survivors are her son, Robert Magnuson; daughters, Barbara (Bill) Suhre, Karen (Alberto) Lopez; grandchildren, Anthony Birleffi, Willie (Stephanie) Suhre, Kelsey Magnuson, Cody Suhre, Darcie Magnuson; step grandchildren, Anthony Lopez and Kelly Lopez; great grandchildren, Madison Birleffi, Aiden Suhre and Braxton Suhre; sister, Wilma Staudinger; and brother, Herman Scheller. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Otto Scheller; and sister, Emma Uhrich. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Adamson Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1865 14th Avenue, Greeley followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
