Harriet Delores Williams, 86, of Johnstown, CO died November 7, 2010 at her residence. She was born May 22, 1924 in Colorado Springs, CO to True C. and Helen Gladys (Bailey) Adams. She attended Cheyenne Mountain School, graduating valedictorian, class of 1942. Harriet attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, CO and Iowa State University (ISU) in Ames, IA. During the war she worked for Curtis Wright Corporation in St. Louis. MO. In 1943 she met Charles A. Williams while both were attending ISU. They were married March 23, 1946 in Colorado Springs shortly after Charlie’s discharge from the Navy. They lived in Lubbock, TX while Charles completed his degree in Animal Husbandry at Texas Tech. Two children were born there; Linda (Thomas) of Johnstown and Clint of Edcouch, TX. From there they moved to the Williams family dairy farm south of Memphis TX. Two girls were born there; Tinka (Piper) of Colorado Springs and Vicky (Kometani) of Hawi, HI. In 1952 they moved to the old Sterns Dairy north of Broomfield, CO and in 1954, they purchased a dairy farm northeast of Johnstown. Two sons were born in Greeley, CO; Larry and Torin, both of Johnstown. Harriet has 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She has been a member of the Johnstown United Methodist Church and the Cheerful Learners Club since 1954. In 1964 she went to work for State Farm at its regional office in Greeley and retired in 1989 as a Fire Insurance Personal Lines Underwriting Specialist. A celebration of her life will be held at the Johnstown United Methodist Church, 108 King Avenue, Johnstown on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the "Johnstown United Methodist Church” in care of Adamson Funeral and Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634
