January 9th, 1928 - December 21st, 2010
Eileen Owen, 82, of Fort Collins, CO, passed away December 21, 2010 at Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of the Rockies in Fort Collins. Eileen was born January 9, 1928 in Crook, CO to Charles Todd and Beryl (Lynch) Gentry. She graduated in 1945 from Crook High School. On September 24, 1950 she married Philip C. Owen at Knox Avenue Baptist Church in Denver, CO. Eileen had a passionate love and appreciation for music and a bright and beautiful soprano voice. She became a Christian at an early age and enjoyed a vibrant faith that spilled over on all that crossed her path. Eileen loved everyone she met and wanted them to know the joy she had found in her relationship with God. She worked part-time at Ambassadors Christian Bookstore and Gospel Supplies in Tucson, AZ during the 1980’s. She was active in every church she and Phil attended throughout their marriage. Eileen is survived by her husband of 60 years Philip Calvin Owen, daughter Connie Kennemer husband, Rex of San Diego, CA, son Philip T. Owen wife, Sherrie of Ft. Collins, grandchildren Brooke Bacon husband, Ben of Broomfield, CO, Brent Owen of Lincoln, NE, great grandchildren Owen & Sloane Bacon, sisters-in-law, Phyllis Gentry, Ruth Sheldon and Hazel Sutter, all of Sterling, CO. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandson Todd Kennemer, and her brother Rex Gentry. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Adamson Funeral Home, Greeley, CO. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Prison Fellowship in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Service, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
