Gladys Irene Anderson
February 18th, 1927 - March 12th, 2011
Gladys Irene Anderson, 84, of Westminster, CO passed away March 12, 2011 at Sandalwood Rehabilitation Center in Wheat Ridge. She was born February 18, 1927in Kansas City, MO to Carl and Anna (Danielson) Fritz. Gladys met Tom Anderson in 1943 in Logan Utah. They were both working for the government at Hill Field Air Force Base in Utah as Aviation Mechanics producing propellers for B-17 bombers. They were married May 13, 1945 in Oakland, CA. They made their home in Topeka, KS. In 1952 they moved to Colorado living in Arvada, CO, Colorado Springs, CO, Greeley, CO, Brighton, CO and Westminster. Gladys was a Sunday school teacher, homemaker and bookkeeper for their utility construction company. She loved to play the piano, read, sew and quilt. Gladys was very passionate about her family and enjoyed every opportunity to spend time with them. She attended Hillside Baptist Church while living in Greeley and was active in church no matter where they lived. Gladys is survived by her husband, Talmadge "Tom” Anderson of Denver, CO; daughters, Sherry (Michael) Bethurum of Denver, Talma (Charles) Sims, of Aurora; son, Rodney Anderson of Greeley; grandchildren, Lisa, Michelle, Wendy, Timothy, and Felicia; great grandchildren, Matthew, Kaylan, Sophia, Olivia, Gavan, and Greysen; sisters, Helen Cottone, Hazel Fritz; and brother, Carl Virgil Fritz. She is preceded in death by her sons, Michael and Steven Anderson; parents; and a sister, Eunice. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Linn Grove Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to "Denver Hospice” in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
