Eugene Ackerman

Eugene A. Ackerman, 57, of Greeley, CO died Monday, May 26, 1980 at Weld County General Hospital. He was born February 1, 1923 to Calvin and Katharina (Orth) Ackerman at Artas, SD. On October 2, 1948 he married Norma Rau in South Dakota. Mr. Ackerman was raised in South Dakota where he farmed. He served in the European Theater during WWII. He came to Greeley in 1961 and had lived here since. He was a past member of the VFW. Survivors are five sons, Gregory G. Ackerman of Windsor, Timothy T. Ackerman of Mobridge, SD, Neal N. Ackerman, Kim K. Ackerman and Kent K. Ackerman, all of Greeley; four sisters, Mrs. Christina Bauer of St. Paul, MN, Mrs. Esther Delzer of Eureka, SD, Mrs. Katharina Dahlin of La Salle, CO and Gertrude Ackerman of Artas; two brothers, Alvin of Rapid City, SD and Ruben of Aberdeen, SD and one grandchild. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 30, 1980 at Adamson Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Linn Grove Cemetery with Military Honors by VFW Pioneer Post No. 2121.
