Betty E. Adams
May 14th, 1923 - December 8th, 1988
Betty Adams, 65, of Tracy, California died Friday, December 9, 1988 at the Dameron Hospital in Stockton, CA. She was born May 14, 1923 to John and Laura Adams in Greeley. Miss Adams graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 1945 and received her master's degree in physical education from UNC in 1951. She taught for two years in Grand Junction before moving to Tracy in 1947. She served as department chairman of the girls physical education department at Tracy High School for 30 years. While at Tracy High School she helped design the girl's gym and swimming pool. She left teaching due to her health in the mid 1970's but officially retired in 1982. She was a member of the Tracy Educators Association, the California Teachers Association, and the California Association of Physical Education and Recreation. She is survived by her sister, Roma Adams of Menteca, CA and a longtime friend, Mrs. Maxine Fairchild of Tracy.
