John Raymond Duell

John Raymond Duell, 88, of Greeley, CO passed away June 10, 2011 at his home. He was born September 23, 1922 in Greeley to Harvey and Helen (Swanson) Duell. John served in the US Army during WWII in Germany and France under General Patton. On July 27, 1944 he married Lucille Brown at the First Covenant Church in Greeley. John was a great conversationalist and enjoyed farming, fishing, Sunday afternoon drives, cruises and traveling. He loved his family very much. John is survived by his wife, Lucille of Greeley; son, Allen (Susan) Duell of Denver, CO; daughters, Linda (John) Cantrell of Kersey, CO, Jan (Ed) Schmidt of Greeley; grandchildren, Heidi (Brian) Holmes of Greeley, Matt Cantrell of Kersey, Paul (Keshia) Schmidt of Evans, CO, Doug (Jacque) Schmidt of Greeley; great grandchildren, Brandon and Tyler Holmes, Harley, Devin, Jon and Danica Schmidt; sister, Pearl (Fred) Cozzens of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers, Herb (Elaine) Duell of TN, Ray (Gen) Duell of Hesperus, CO, and David (Bonnie) Duell of Denver. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and three sisters. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Adamson Chapel. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to "Disabled Veterans” in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
