Esther Heil
June 20th, 1919 - August 19th, 2011
Esther Heil, 92, longtime resident of Greeley, Colorado passed away Friday, August 19, 2011 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. Esther was born in Ault, CO on June 20, 1919 to George and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Stroman. On March 15, 1936 she married Fred Heil in Greeley. They farmed in the Mead and Longmont area for many years. Esther was a very caring person who truly enjoyed her family and many friends. She was an excellent seamstress, making several wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses. She was also very crafty, and made dolls and quilts. It seemed that anything she picked up turned into a treasure. Esther worked for Dr. Myron W. Cook for several years caring for his children and wife. She had a caregiver’s heart which was evident in her special care for each of her grandchildren and when a neighbor needed help with childcare, she was always there. Esther also worked as a cook at Johnson’s Corner and as a waitress at Mike’s Café in Longmont, CO. Esther is survived by her daughter, Patricia Fankell of Evans, CO; sons, Kenneth (Louise) Heil of Ukiah, CA, and Douglas Heil of Evans; grandchildren, Dennis (Julie) Heil of Longmont, Denine Furney (Kevin Schaub) of Greeley, Michele Hatton of Greeley, Mike Heil (Renae), Rob Heil (Rockette), Rick Heil all of CA, Dee (Dan) Walworth of Brighton, CO, Marvin Heil of Evans, and Tom Heil of Loveland, CO; great grandchildren, Kimberly McMurray of Greeley, Josh Walworth of Westminster, CO, Makenzie McMurray (NicSchafer), Mariah Schaub, Brisco Furney, Courtney Froman all of Greeley, Paul Heil of Loveland, Jesse Walworth of Brighton, CO, Jacob and Christie Heil of Longmont, and Whitney Heil and Ryam Heil both of CA; great great-grandchildren, George Walworth of Westminster, and Amelia Schafer of Greeley and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Heil; son, Marvin Heil; son-in-law, Kenneth Fankell; daughter-in-law, Mary Heil; grandson, H. Scott Furney; nine sisters and three brothers. A celebration of Esther’s life will be held and announced at a later time. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.adamsonchapel.com . The family would like to express their gratitude to Jonathan Vargas and Marla Furney for the great care they gave to Esther.
