Mary Jane Kerbs
November 23rd, 1943 - March 3rd, 2022
Mary Jane Kerbs, 78, passed away on March 3rd, 2022, in Greeley, Colorado. She was born November 23rd, 1943, to Leonard Ray Barwick and Grace Lindsay Barwick in Fairhope, AL. Mary, who went by her middle name “Jane,” grew up in Clinton, NC. She briefly moved to Hollywood, FL before ending up in Greeley, CO where she attended and graduated from Greeley High School in 1961. Shortly thereafter, Jane met Donald Eugene Kerbs. They fell in love and were married in 1966, welcoming a son in 1969. In 1972, Jane and Don started “Kerbs Printing,” a printing business in Greeley. Jane’s true passion was gracing the halls of her church through the piano. Her artistry began by pretending to play the piano off her windowsill as a toddler. When she was 16 years old, Hillside Baptist Church was in need of a pianist, so when Jane was asked to play a service, she did so happily – the rest is history. She grew to become an exceptional pianist who would be asked to play for a myriad of occasions: weddings, funerals, luncheons, and so forth. At one point, she was a member of the Harmony Three, a church music group. Jane was a woman of deep and abiding faith, characteristically overflowing with kindness. She was a member of Hillside Baptist Church for over 60 years. As much joy as she derived from her faith and her music, her greatest love in life was the time she spent with her family and friends. Jane is survived by her son, Darrin; her granddaughter, Hannah; and countless more friends and family. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Don, her parents Leonard and Grace, and her brothers Ray and Gene Barwick. A visitation will take place from 5-7 pm on Friday, March 11th, 2022, at Adamson. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 12th, 2022, at Adamson Life Celebration Home. Interment will take place in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a reception at Adamson’s following the interment.
