John Chacon, Sr.

John Chacon, Sr. 78, of Greeley, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022 at his home. He was born April 13, 1944 in Gilcrest, Colorado to Paul and Carmen (Murillo) Chacon. He attended school and lived in the Gilcrest area until 3 years ago when he moved to Greeley. John married Mary Mora on September 4, 1965. He worked in construction and at Kodak, IBM, Monfort and most recently at Elkhorn Construction for over 12 years as a tinner. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, softball, and basketball and was a Broncos and Rockies fan. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. John is survived by his sons, John Chacon, Jr. and Diane Rizo of Greeley and Victor Chacon and Tricia of Greeley; grandchildren, Natalie Thill and Nathan, Nikki Cole and Cody, Brant Snelling, Aubrey Chacon, Monica Chacon, and Nadene Chacon; his siblings, Dora Alvidrez of Greeley, Pelu Garcia of Greeley, Rudy Chacon and Rosie of Gilcrest, Ruben Chacon and Virginia of Gilcrest and Helen Olivas of Loveland. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his siblings, Tony Villegas, Antonio Chacon, Rebecca Regalado, and Mable Tapia; his grandson Michael Chacon and great-grand daughter Brooklyn Thill. A visitation will be Wednesday, May 25, 2022 from 5:00p.m.-6:00p.m. followed by the Recitation of the Rosary at Adamson Life Celebration Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment Mizpah Cemetery. Friends may send condolences to the family at adamsoncares.com.
