Diane R. Stradley

Diane Stradley, 66, of Kersey, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022 after a 10 month fight with sarcoma cancer. She was born May 23, 1956 in Camden, New Jersey to Richard Y. and Kathleen (Durr) Roof. Diane grew up in rural Lebanon, Pennsylvania where she attended school and was very active in 4-H and church activities, graduating from Cedar Crest High School. She later graduated from Slippery Rock State College in Pennsylvania in 1979 with a BS in Environmental Sciences and a USAF commission as 2nd Lt. from the AFROTC program. Pursuing her dreams of serving her County, she served four years as a Missile Maintenance Officer at FE Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, WY where she met and married her future spouse, Bruce Stradley. Together they traveled to Okinawa, Japan; Rapid City, South Dakota (where their children, Jason and Tara were born), Sacramento, California (where she achieved her paralegal Certification) and eventually to Kersey where they built their home on Bruce’s family farm. Diane enjoyed being a Domestic Engineer, raising the children and working at various part-time jobs. She obtained a Master Gardener certification and excelled at creating bountiful and beautiful gardens. Diane was very active in Assistance League of Greeley for eight years. Diane loved to travel. She was a veteran of 44 cruises and numerous road trips. She visited 65 countries and had pleasant memories of places she has been and wonderful people she met. Even though cancer was affecting her, she completed her last cruise and trips to Texas and California with family and friends during the last three months of her life. She was a strong Christian and a member of the Evans United Methodist Church. Diane wants to be remembered for her love of family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Bruce, children; Jason and Tara both of Greeley, her siblings; Richard of Lebanon, PA, Patricia of Annville, PA and Regina of Aberdeen, MD as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Diane’s Life Celebration will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Adamson with a reception to follow.
