Josephine "Josie" M. Vieyra

Josephine “Josie” Marie Vieyra, 78, of Greeley, Colorado passed away Tuesday, June 14th, 2022, at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. She was born October 23rd, 1943, to Santos and Eutimia Salazar, in Greeley, Colorado. Josie grew up in Kersey and attended Kersey High School. On July 17th 1957, she married the love of her life, John C. Vieyra. The couple had 5 children: Mollie, Lorraine, Elizabeth, Peggy, and Johnny. Josephine dedicated her life to her children. Josephine was a homemaker most of her life. She was a great cook who was well known by her family as having the best smothered burritos, menudo, and chili beans around. She was also a talented seamstress who made clothing for her children. She had a playful spirit and enjoyed playing Bingo and cheering on the Las Vegas Raiders. Above all else, Josie loved to be around her family and spending time at family events. Josephine is survived by her children; Mollie Amaya (Paul) of Evans, CO, Elizabeth Aragon (James) of Greeley, CO, and Peggy Juarez (Eleazar) of Greeley, CO, her grandchildren; Johnnie Ramirez Jr. (Amber), Freddie Cerda Jr., Kyle Aragon (Delaine) and Letia Rodriguez (Fabian), her siblings; Julia Martinez of Greeley, CO, and Ramon Salazar of Modesto, CA, and her beloved family members; Andrea and Doug Christensen, as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her loving husband John Cistos Vieyra, her children Lorraine and Johnny Vieyra, her grandson Robert McCoy, and several brothers and sisters. A visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 21st, 2022, at Adamson Life Celebration Home. A graveside service will take place 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 22nd, 2022, at Linn Grove Cemetery.
