John Royden Tuttle
September 14th, 1938 - June 7th, 2023
John R. Tuttle (Mr. Jon), 84 of Loveland and formerly of Platteville, passed away June 7, 2023 at his home in Loveland. He was born September 14, 1938 in New Castle, CO to J. Burton and Mary (Robinson) Tuttle. John’s childhood was spent in many different places as his dad raised sheep and the family had to move often. Much of John’s childhood was spent being a camp tender along side his brothers. John graduated from high school in 1957 from Basalt High School in Basalt, Colorado. On June 13, 1960 John married Jayne Smith in Vernal, Utah. Together they lovingly raised 3 children, Luann Daugherty (Billy) of Platteville, Tracy Eckhardt (Hod Soto) of Greeley, and Joseph B. Tuttle III. John continued to work in the family business of raising sheep and cattle at the feedlot in Platteville. He always had many business ventures. A Custom Farming business and another was South Weld Ag Aerial Spray business. In 1990, his only grandchild, Alex Eckhardt was born and since that time he became known as Mr. Jon. In the mid 90’s he decided to retire and was finally ready to enjoy life. After his wife’s passing he met Barbara Viglienzone in 2012. They later married on October 9, 2014. Together they enjoyed many travel destinations including some cruises. John’s final home was a lake home in Loveland where he could enjoy a beautiful view daily. John was cared for by his wife Barbara until he peacefully passed at his home. Survivors include his wife, Barbara, his daughters, Luann and Tracy, his grandson Alex (Brooke), his great granddaughter, Mae Everly, a sister, Alfreda Grimm, a brother Halbert (Sandra), brother-in-law, John O’Neil, brother-in-law John Smith (Sally), brother-in-law, Bradford Smith (Jacki), brother-in-law, Roy Molesworth (Pam), step daughter, Deborah Carter (Kent), and step son Kirk Felix (Trish), 3 step grandsons, and 5 step great grandchildren. Many Nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Burton and Mary, his wife Jayne (2007), his son Joseph (2014), son-in-law Billy Daugherty, his brothers, Val, Burton and Douglas and his sister Maralyn O’Neil. The family has requested a private family service and interment. Friends may send condolences to the family at adamsoncares.com.
