Obituary for Jerry M. Trujillo – October 3, 1950 - January 23, 2024 On Tuesday January 23rd, the angels descended to guide him to eternal rest, as he slept peacefully at home. Jerry was born on October 3rd , 1950, to Tivie Trujillo (Valencia) and Michael Trujillo in Montrose, Colorado. The second of 10 siblings. He was proceeded in death by his parents and 2 brothers. His eldest brother, Freddy Trujillo, of Palos Verdes, CA and his youngest brother, Fernando Cisneros, of Greeley, CO. As a child he was raised in Montrose, until moving to Greeley as a young teenager. As an older teen, he moved to Laramie, WY, where he lived with his aunt and uncle Onesimo and Agapita Valencia (deceased), their 3 daughters and 1 son Jesse Valencia (deceased) who he considered his brothers and sisters. On August 10, 1968, he married his wife June Trujillo (Vigil). They had 2 children, a son Michael Eric, and a daughter, Tanya. Over their 56 years of marriage, he watched his family grow as he added a son-in-law, Tomas Martinez, and a daughter-in-law, Nidia Lopez. Over the years, the family continued to blossom with 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, who he loved and adored. Jerry dedicated his professional life to concrete and building. He was a business owner for over 50 years. He worked daily alongside his son, as together they ran Trujillo Concrete. Even in his retirement, he showed up daily at the projects, to provide guidance and gave the crew a daily scare as he yelled out what they needed to improve; as he was a perfectionist and had the highest expectations for everything that had his name associated with it. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed hunting big game. He looked forward to the annual hunting trips that he shared with his son and grandsons. This was a tradition that started when his son was just a boy and continued until this very hunting season. He also enjoyed livestock and the ranch life. Always owning horses, cows and other animals kept him busy. Although he had hobbies, his favorite activities were spoiling and spending time with his family. Everywhere he went, he always had his family with him. He considered them his greatest treasure and was always proud that his family chose to be together on every adventure. He also loved having his extended family and friends around. He loved hosting parties, and everyone looked forward to his annual summer BBQ’s. Jerry will always be remembed for his infectious personality, gift of gab and quick wit. He never met a stranger; and could carry on a conversation with anyone who crossed his path. All that knew him, loved to sit and listen to him tell his stories about the great adventures throughout his life. He leaves behind a large void and will be missed for so many reasons including his unconditional love, generosity, fighting spirit and fierce spark for life. He was a true legend and has left behind a legacy of love.
