Betty Ann Bernhardt
April 23rd, 1941 - July 19th, 2019
Betty Ann Bernhardt of Loveland passed away on July 19, 2019. She was born in Hudson, CO to parents Arthur and Anna Bernhardt. She attended Hudson High School and was the valedictorian for the class of 1959. After high school, she attended Colorado State University for a year and then started her 45 year career at Mountain Bell. She held various positions starting with stenographer and ending as an engineer/designer. During those years, she lived in Aurora, CO and attended classes, finishing a Bachelor in Psychology at Colorado Christian College. During her work years, she lived in Aurora and after retirement moved to Loveland. Betty Ann was always planning her next trip as she most loved to travel. She visited many places including Germany, Holland, Israel, Australia, New Zealand and most of the United States including Alaska and Hawaii. But she loved the Rocky Mountains best and was always up for a long drive to higher places, especially Trail Ridge Road. When at home, she enjoyed her Monday afternoon card group, read many books, took classes at the Chilson Center, loved a great conversation with friends and spent time with her family which includes her sisters, LaRene Johnston, Loveland, CO, Kathy Bernhardt, Mesa, AZ and Arthea Anderson, Mesa, AZ. She loved playing with and helping raise her nieces (Linda Haney, Loveland, Kay Franklin, Mesa, AZ, Jeneane McBride) and nephews (Gene Johnston, Fort Collins, Randy Anderson, and Roger Anderson). She was thrilled and excited when that next generation came around to spoil (Daniel Haney, Troy Marks Anderson, and Evie McBride). She was active in the Lutheran Church all her life and taught many Sunday School classes, was a youth group leader and was active in the singles groups. She has been a member at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Loveland for the past 15 years. Her family and friends know she is now with her Savior and has no pain, but she will be greatly missed on this earth. Viewing at 10 AM and service at 11 AM will be held on Friday, July 26 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Loveland, CO.
