Edward Ronald Johnson

Edward Ronald Johnson, age 85, died March 9, 2024, at Bonaventure Senior Living in Castle Rock, CO. He was born on March 3, 1939, in Wilkinsburg, PA to Edward and Louella Johnson.  Edward was a 1957 graduate of Wilkinsburg High School, where during his senior year he was both class president and captain of the golf team.  He served his country for 4 years in the Navy as a radio operator on the Island of Eleuthera, Bahamas, reaching the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class.  Edward attended Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a Bachelors and a master's degree in Rehabilitation Education.  We honor the life of Edward and his career of helping others as a counselor at the Johnstown Rehabilitation Center and the Johnstown Vocational & Technical High School in Johnstown, PA.  He dedicated most of his career to supervising and managing vocational programs for severely disabled at the Southside Virginia Training Center in Petersburg, VA.  Also known as Ronnie and Ez by his close friends and family, Edward enjoyed golfing and playing card games with his friends.  He loved spending time outside, on the banks of the Rappahannock River at his home in Deltaville, VA. He was generous and donated to many charitable organizations.  Edward is the loving brother of Robert (Joan) and the late Deborah Lane (Rich). Beloved father of Gregg (Rachele), Jessica (Joel), and Brian (Mary).  He was the dear grandfather of eight.  A burial service for Edward will be held at noon on Saturday, June 15 at Homewood Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA.
