Ronald Hugh Reed, 84, husband of Martha Shellenberger Reed passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, in Lexington, KY. He was born in Harrodsburg, KY on July 3, 1939, to the late Hugh and Lois Reed. Ronald retired from Square D Schneider Electric after a 40 year career as a Mechanical Engineer. He was a former scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 43 in Versailles. A history buff, he was active with the James Harrod Trust in Harrodsburg where he served a treasurer for a period of time. He was a voracious reader, enjoyed music, and spending time on Herrington Lake. Other than his wife Martha he is survived by his daughter, Carrie (Jason) Rudzik, Lexington, KY; one son, Thomas (Meredith) Reed, Lexington, KY; three grandchildren, Jacob Rudzik, Lexington, KY, Matthew Rudzik, Lexington, KY and Adrienne Reed, Lexington, KY. He is preceded in death by his brother, Bill Reed and sister-in-law, Bennie Kay Reed. 

 

A celebration gathering of family and friends will be 12pm-2pm Monday, June 17, 2024, at Clark Legacy Center, 3000 Versailles Rd. Frankfort, KY.
