Jesse Lee Kandel was born in Dover, Ohio on March 27, 1983, the son of Freida (Verner) Knapp of WA and Keith (Margaret) Kandel of OH, the youngest of five children and the father of Levi William Kandel (3 yo).
Jesse spent his formative childhood and teenage years in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In 2001, Jesse graduated from Frank W. Cox High School, and in September 2011 he moved across country to Puyallup, Washington. Jesse joined the IBEW Local 46 Electrical Union in 2015 and completed the apprenticeship program in July 2020 obtaining certification in the occupation of Inside Wireman.
Jesse was an avid Washington Redskins fan, enjoying many hours over the years watching football games and engaging in light hearted banter with siblings and friends. He had an artistic side and liked writing poetry and sketching. Jesse spent a lot of his free time hiking and exploring nature with Levi and friends. He was a supportive and conscientious friend to many and devoted his life to being the best father he could be.
Jesse is survived by siblings Sherry (Steve) Tedesco of ID, Jodi (Joe) Brooks of WA, Tammi (Josh) Hall of MO and Jeremy (Jennifer) Kandel of WA. Jesse was a dearly loved uncle to four beautiful nieces and ten amazing nephews.
Jesse was the victim of a homicide. His friends and family mourn his untimely death. We will always remember and celebrate a beautiful life that was taken too soon.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family would prefer donations in Jesse’s honor to be kept in a fund for his son, Levi, and managed by his brother, Jeremy Kandel. You may donate through GoFundMe. https://gofund.me/13b345c1
