Shawn Dennis Schneider entered into the pearly gates to meet the Lord on December 23, 2019 for his first Christmas in heaven!  Shawn was born on November 26, 1972 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Janelle and Dennis Schneider.  Shawn will forever be remembered as a devoted son and a loving and loyal friend.  Shawn adored his mother and father and showered them with affection.  Shawn was very devoted to his mother, father, siblings, family, and friends. Shawn cherished his one on one time with his devoted mother. Shawn attended Skyline High School and graduated in 1991. From 1991-1993 he was employed by Maxtor Corporation. In 1993 Shawn was involved in a car accident which resulted in his paralysis. During the next 27 years, he studied computer science, starting his studies at Front Range Community College. His hobbies ranged from remote control planes/boats, computer games like World of Warcraft and World of Warships. Shawn’s desire was to become a pilot! He was an avid Denver Broncos & Nebraska Huskers football fan…some people would say Shawn was a fanatic football fan!  Shawn was also a NASCAR fan. Dale Earnhardt Jr #8 and Dale Senior #3 were his favorite NASCAR drivers. Shawn was diagnosed with cancer and became a warrior during his battle. Shawn’s soul & spirit will live on forever in his new journey & forever lasting life dancing and prancing. Shawn took pride in staying in contact with his friends and family. Shawn’s nickname was Bonk in New England & Wheels in Colorado.  Shawn’s favorite pets were his cats Thomas & AWOL. Shawn’s favorite holiday is Easter and enjoyed celebrating a symbolic Passover Dinner at Foundations Church. Shawn was always honored and proud to give his monthly contribution to the church. Shawn enjoyed fishing, hiking, running, track & field, pole vaulting, and long jumping. Shawn was an undefeated soccer goalie as a child when his team won the championship.  Shawn was a GS Skier on the Nashua High Ski Team Club and always showed off his radical cliff & jumping ski skills in the New England mountains and Colorado Rockies. Shawn enjoyed creating & working on the landscaping in his backyard that included his magical waterfall pond oasis. Shawn enjoyed meditating in his back yard, looking at the sunrise and sunset. Shawn also adored his salt water aquarium. Shawn received his certification in scuba diving with his father in Guam in 1984. Shawn was dedicated to his daily bible verses, praying before every meal and committed to his values and principles of his faith. Shawn was an inspiration to everyone he touched.  Shawn was different and he liked it that way. Shawn is survived by his mother, Janelle, of Loveland CO, father Dennis and stepmother, Laurie of Santee CA, brother, Nicholas of Santee CA, sister Jessica of OR and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many, many friends. Viewing will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Viegut Funeral Home from 2:00 – 4:00  pm at 1616 N. Lincoln Ave, Loveland CO 80537. Celebration of life will be held at Foundations Church on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 10:30 am, 1380 N. Denver Ave, Loveland CO 80537 with reception following. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Loveland at 1:30pm following the reception. In lieu of flowers donations made to Shawn Schneider’s Memorial Fund in C/O First Bank in Loveland. In honor of Shawn, please feel free to wear Bronco and or Husker attire!
