Stanley "Scott" Sessions
March 25th, 1966 - February 8th, 2020
Stanley "Scott” Sessions was born March 25, 1966 in Ogden, Utah. His life was tragically taken from him February 8, 2020. A longtime resident of Greeley, Scott was a beloved Trumpet player that performed throughout the state of Colorado, most recently with the band "The Movers & Shakers.” The band had recently returned from an international blues festival competition in Memphis. Scott also loved to play with "George Gray and the Elvis Experience Band.” He attended Greeley West High School and graduated with a music degree from Brigham Young University. He was part of the BYU premier Jazz Band Synthesis and performed throughout the US and Europe. Music truly was Scott’s life, and he told people close to him he was happiest on stage performing for others. Scott also enjoyed the outdoors and hiking with his Springer Spaniel "Molly” and had established his own painting business in Greeley. Scott loved to serve others and was always available for his friends in need. He developed this trait as he earned his Eagle Scout award from the Boy Scouts and continued while serving a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brisbane Australia. Scott was always making sure to keep in touch with all his friends, old and new. He had a love for life that blessed him with many friends. Though Scott did not have his own family he relished time spent with his two nephews. Scott is survived by his parents Stan and Linda Sessions; his brother and sister-in-law Steve and Norma Sessions; two nephews Aaron and Jacob Sessions; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Lastly, his beloved cat Munchkin, who was adopted out to another family. A Celebration of Life with great music and fun memories will be held March 28, 2020 at the Journey Christian Center 4751 31 St Greeley, Colo. from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A memorial fund has been set up at Northern Colorado Credit Union 2901 S 27 Ave Greeley, CO 80631. Please make checks payable to Stan or Linda Sessions.
