Timothy Eugene Johnston
August 12th, 1961 - October 7th, 2019
Tim Johnston, born August 12, 1961 to Byron J. and Norma Lou (Loudy) Johnston, passed away suddenly on October 7 as a result of injuries sustained in a fall. Tim was Jay and Loudy’s first born and he was a wonderful son, and the epitome of a big brother to his younger brother Stan and sister Kristi. Tim graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1980. Tim married Carol Clark in June of 1984, and together welcomed their son, Chad Johnston in April of 1985 and their second son, Brent Johnston, in May of 1987. Tim worked in construction in Northern Colorado for nearly 40 years. Tim and Carol own Johnston Quality Builders and are co-owners of True Fabrication and Welding. Tim worked alongside both of his sons, and nephew Josh, and it was a source of pride for him. Tim was an avid outdoorsman and he enjoyed sharing the love of being outside with other people. He wholeheartedly believed that spending quality time with your children was critically important. He enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, hunting and fishing with his family and friends. Tim loved being an uncle to his nieces and nephew. They knew the rules were often optional when they were with Uncle Tim, and he found great joy in spending time with them. Tim was endlessly dedicated to his family and friends. If someone he cared about needed help, he would show up ready to do whatever was asked. When his sons married their wives, he immediately folded Melissa and Bekkah into his family, loving and protecting them as his own. Before his passing, Carol and Tim were blessed with three beautiful granddaughters. He would have moved heaven and earth to make sure they were protected, happy and loved. It’s safe to say that being their Papa, and loving them like only he could, was his favorite pastime. Tim is survived by wife Carol, his sons Chad (Melissa) Johnston and Brent (Rebekkah) Johnston, granddaughters Kaitlynn, Abby and MacKenzie, parents Jay and Loudy Johnston, brother Stan Johnston, sister Kristi (Chuck) Ramsey, in-laws Dwight and Sue Clark, brother in-law Matt (Pat) Clark, sister in-law Samantha (Chuck) Booton, nephew Josh Johnston, nieces Faith Ramsey, Stanna Johnston, Allison (Ted) Berkompas, Raelene (Trevor) Harvey, Victoria (Kent) Bakker, Madison Booton, Alexandra Booton and long-time friend Chris (Julie) Walker. Memorial services will be held at Crossroads Church in Loveland on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 10:30am. A reception will be held at the church following services.
