Walter Wallace Hayward

Walter Wallace Hayward passed away peacefully away on July 1, 2018 at Good Samaritan Village, Loveland, Co. He was born on October 9, 1920 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He married his high school sweetheart, Twila Loether prior to being drafted into the army during WWII. Upon his return to the States following the war, they moved to Durham, North Carolina where they started a family. He graduated from Duke University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. They moved to Loveland in 1969. He worked for various companies in different capacities which eventually led to his latest being co-owner and design engineering consultant for Alerte Systems in Loveland, Colorado. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife Twila. They celebrated 71 years of marriage on April 19, 2015. He was a proud American veteran who enjoyed camaraderie with his fellow PAMVET at the Golden Corral each Saturday. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother, half-sister, son-in-law, granddaughter and most recently his beloved wife, Twila, who passed away on May 5, 2015. He leaves behind his daughters Karen Vielhak of Cheyenne, Patie Burris (Ron) of Lake Havasu City; grandchildren Cindy Kraft (Pete), Channon Garcia (Joe), Dave Vielhak, Chris Hall (Chuck) and Chad Burris (Taran); 13 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and will be truly missed. Memorial Services will be held at First Christian Church in Loveland on July 6, 2018 at 2:00 PM. Viewing will be held at Viegut Funeral Home on July 5, 2018 from 4-6 PM. Interment will be held at the Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado at a later date.
