Betty Ann Parsons was born October 13, 1935 to George and Mollie Bernhardt in Greeley, Colorado and passed away quietly on August 20, 2020 after a short illness from a fall. The Bernhardt’s were farmers and Betty enjoyed life on the farm being around the livestock, riding horses and helping with the farm chores. Betty went to and graduated from Mead Consolidated High School in 1954. Upon graduation, Betty was hired by the school as school secretary for several years. She then went on to work for Dr. Hammond in Greeley as a receptionist until her marriage. Betty found the love of her life, Ronald L. Parsons and they were united in marriage June 2, 1961. They were blessed with two children Scott Parsons and Debbie Parsons. Ron and Betty both owned and operated Handy Glass of Loveland until her retirement in 1994. Betty was a huge sports fanatic and enjoyed following the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Rockies and CU Buffaloes. She also loved going to the casino where she wanted to hit the "big one” and sometimes was doing very well! Betty loved playing card games, Canasta and Pinochle and relaxing watching her favorite tv shows. Betty and Ron loved to travel and took their children on various vacations across the United States. They also went on several Caribbean Cruises and had a great time with friends and family. Her pride and joy in life were her two grandsons Travis and Brad. She enjoyed all their sports games through high school and college. She loved and had a special place in her heart for all her dogs that she had through life, most being rescued. Both Betty and Ron were supporters of Veteran programs with the Associated Veterans Club and participating in the bell ringing ceremony of Veterans Day. They also were active members of Loveland Elks Lodge #1051 and enjoyed working on the Charity Week programs and various other programs with the Elks Lodge. Betty also belonged to the Gamma Chi sorority in Loveland. Survivors include her son Scott Parsons (special friend Mary Johns), and daughter Debbie Parsons all of Loveland.
