DeLores Lucerle Ross

DeLores Lucerle Ross, age 96, passed away peacefully in her home on September 21, 2020. She was born on February 23, 1924 in Phelps County, Nebraska to Zaccheus and Myrtle Fike. She attended school in Holdrege, Nebraska until 1937 when the family moved to Colorado. She graduated from Loveland High School in 1942. She married LeRoy W Ross in Kimball, Nebraska on November 25, 1942 and they enjoyed 74 years of marriage. DeLores was a Sunday School teacher for many years at United Methodist Church in Berthoud. She began working at Hewlett-Packard in 1962 when the company first moved to Loveland. She retired in 1986. She loved gardening, canning, cooking, and traveling to visit family. She was able to enjoy adventurous vacations to Mexico, Hawaii, California, Florida...to name a few. Most of all, she loved her family. She looked forward to visits and phone calls from family and friends and always closed with an "I love you”. She is survived by her sons Jerry (Bette Grover) Ross of Pleasant Hill, CA and Bruce Ross (Kris) of Jacksonville, FL; daughter Marvel Schulze (Jay) of Loveland, CO; sister Lilas Neitzel (Jerry) of Loveland, CO; grandsons Michael Ross of San Antonio, TX and Steven Ross (Jessica) of Jacksonville, FL; granddaughter Melissa Garrett (Dan) of Lake Asbury, FL; great-granddaughter Catie Garrett; great-grandson Jacob Garrett; great-great granddaughter Sloane Ross; great-great grandson Lucas Ross; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Ross, granddaughter Bailey O’Connor, grandson Bryan Ross, her father Zaccheus Fike; mother Myrtle Rowan; sister Devona Cavender, brother Vergene Fike, sisters and brothers-in- law, nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to her loving caregivers, Robin Dodge; Rhonda Rose; and Pat Livengood. She loved each and every one of you with all of her heart. Thank you to Pathways for your help and kindness. Viewing will be held at Viegut Funeral Home on Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 5:00pm-7:00pm (face coverings are required). Graveside services Friday, September 25, 2020 12:00pm at Loveland Burial Park. Please join us at DeLores’ home at 112 Hankins Lane, Loveland, Colorado following the Graveside Service. Lunch will be provided.
