Marion was born in Caldercruix, Scotland on June 16, 1937. Her parents were William and Helen Smellie. Marion’s two older siblings James Smellie and Chrissie Prentice preceded her death. Marion met her husband Alex when they were 15 and 17 respectfully, and they married four years later in 1956. They emigrated to Canada in 1960 and to The United States in 1965. They celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on August 17, 2023. Alex always said that their courtship was a magical time and they dearly loved each other in marriage. In her early career Marion was employed by The British Railroad, London Life Insurance Company in Canada and various retail companies in the U.S.A. In addition to Alex, Marion leaves behind a loving family that she treasured. Her son John and his wife Julie, her daughter Leslie and her husband Greg. Marion had five grandchildren, Brandon, Christie, Colin, Carrie and Jennifer. Marion had four great grandchildren. Marion was the nicest person, always smiling, gracious, full of life and loving. She had a great sense of humor. Marion will be missed. We celebrate her life, a life well lived with many great moments.
