Roy P. Grimaldi
June 7th, 1926 - October 14th, 2023
Roy P. Grimaldi sadly passed away on Saturday, October 14th at the age of 97. He was predeceased by his cherished wife of 73 {mostly blissful} years, "Be". He had been under hospice care for several weeks and his passing was peaceful. Dad had grown tired and his wish to join his wife was granted. Dad joined the Navy while he was still a very young lad and served proudly aboard the USS Alabama in the Pacific during WW ll. On that battleship he learned the skills that carried him through life...hard work and dedication. He took his responsibilities seriously and faced each task head-on...in his own time. But Dad wasn't all work. He loved back-yard get-togethers and dinners out with friends. He loved poker and the casinos. Every chance he got, he would load Mom into the car and head for the coast. Dad would rush to spend his money at the slots, while "Be" would hit the gift shops. Dad learned to fix just about anything, often fabricating the parts he needed from the hoard of parts collected over the years. Some of his children inherited that resourcefulness...his eldest did not. The only thing Dad couldn't fix was time and his broken heart. He so missed Mom. Dad is survived by daughters Sheryl {Tom} Loller, Keryl Burdine and son Michael {Kirsten} Grimaldi. He is predeceased by his daughter Adrienne Grimaldi. There are many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who held a very special place in his heart. As a husband, father and grandfather there was none better than you. The emptiness we feel will never be filled. Rest now...you've earned it.
