Judy Ann Jensen-Lohnes
January 31st, 1955 - June 4th, 2021
Judy Ann Jensen-Lohnes passed away on June 4th, 2021 from a battle with MSA and its complications. Judy was born January 31, 1955 in Denver to John Junior and Doris Irene (Lister) Jensen. She was a month premature and was to be their only child. She overcame most of the complications associated with arriving early but continued to suffer from damaged hearing throughout her life. Judy grew up in Greeley and married her first husband, Lance Wolery; that union produced two children, Barbara and Matthew who would later be adopted by her second husband. In June of 1978, she married the love of her life, David W. Lohnes, blending his 3 children with her own into a family. Judy later adopted the oldest child, Terry. Judy loved camping, fishing, gardening, sewing, needlework and feeding her beloved birds and squirrels. She raised pigeons for many years as well as two baby orphaned squirrels. Dave and Judy were both animal lovers and managed a feral colony of cats at the Loveland Feed & Grain for over ten years. They trapped, neutered and released many adults in the colony and tamed and homed over 25 kittens. In 1989 they bought Chambers Plumbing & Heating and for the next 25+ years would find them busy running the business. Judy loved her job. Judy and Dave belonged to a camping group for more than 15 years, making lots of friends and traveling companions. They were the RV Rascals and they were just that, rascals having years of fun. But she was most proud of her children and grandchildren and how different, diverse and successful they were. She is survived by her husband, Dave, her children: Terry and wife Mary, Brett and wife Rene, Barbara and husband Joel, Matthew, and her grandchildren: Nick and wife Maddy, Jared, Cynthia, Lucas, Ember and boyfriend Trevor, Justin, Kristina and husband Josiah, and Holly and husband Phillip. Judy was preceded in death by her parents and stepdaughter Heidi. Memorial Service Saturday, June 12th, 2021, 10:30am at Viegut Funeral Home. Reception to follow at Dennis Dinsmore's. In lieu of flowers, please donate to an animal charity or a cancer charity. Judy’s favorite animal charities were The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keensburg, Best Friends Animal Society in Kanub, Utah, and the Doris Day Animal League.
