William Roger Bender

William Roger Bender (Billy) passed away on September 6, 2021 with family by his side. He was born in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin and moved to Colorado in 1975. He grew up in Berthoud and graduated from Thompson Valley High School in Loveland in 1988. Roger was an outstanding high school swimmer. He married Cindy Crookshank on September 11, 1999. He graduated from Regis University with a Psychology degree in 2004 and went on to complete his Masters in Counseling Psychology in 2007. He worked as a residential counselor for many years. He was a devoted father that loved watching his children play sports. He also enjoyed coaching youth sports and his own children. His favorite pastimes included watching football (Denver Broncos and CU Buffs), playing cribbage, and poker with his friends. His laugh was contagious and he was always telling jokes and stories. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Cindy; two children Cade and Kendall. His father William Bender (Paula Jones), mother Stephanie DeGraff Bender, brother Tim, mother-in-law Karen Crookshank, and numerous friends and family members. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Mildred and Roger Bender, Florence and John DeGraff. We will be having a Celebration of Life Ceremony on September 25, 2021 at 154 Alpine Laurel Avenue, Loveland, CO from 1:00 - 4:00. His children request that you please wear your favorite sports jersey/shirt in his honor to the Celebration of Life Ceremony.
