Melody Lynn Niemeyer
December 20th, 1968 - February 6th, 2022
Heaven gained a true Angel on February 6, 2022. Melody Goodman Niemeyer passed away in Johnstown, Colorado. She was surrounded with her family and friends by her side. Melody was born in Alamosa, Colorado on December 20th, 1968. She loved the mountains, camping, fishing, four wheeling, and spending time with her family and her dogs. Melody most likely gained a love for many of these things at an early age growing up in beautiful Salmon, Idaho. She was the oldest of three children and had a younger sister and a younger brother. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints. She graduated from Salmon High School in 1987. She then moved to New York and became a Nanny for a year and she loved this experience. She then moved with her family to Glenwood, Utah. Melody attended Cosmetology School in Richfield and met so many people and made some lifelong friends. From there she moved out to Colorado where she made her home and has been since. She met the love of her life, Kirk Niemeyer, and they were married and together they have a daughter, Aurora. Melody had the biggest heart and was known for taking others in. She was a second mom to many of Aurora's friends and family. Melody had such a special love for kids, and they were attracted to her. Melody had a smile that could light up any room, and a contagious laugh. Her door was always open and her home was a safe place for so many. Melody attended Aims Community College where she earned her Business Degree. At a young age she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. She struggled with diabetes and other health issues. Melody handled all these hardships and curveballs life had thrown at her with strength and determination. Melody was not a quitter and was stubborn! She had a great sense of humor, was witty, and loved to make others laugh. We can still hear her cute animated laugh now. Melody is survived by her husband, (Kirk Niemeyer), daughter (Aurora Niemeyer), parents (Jerry and Carol Goodman) Sister (Jill McKinlay and her husband Brandon McKinlay) Brother (Clint Goodman and his wife Cara Goodman). She had many nieces, nephews, cousins, and family members who all love her dearly. A Graveside dedication will be Saturday, February 12th, at 3:00 pm at the Glenwood Cemetery in Glenwood, Utah
