Margie JoAnn Cochran
December 28th, 1938 - November 30th, 2022
Margie JoAnn Cochran was surrounded by family when she was called to be with her Savior on November 30, 2022. Her infant son, Andrew, was waiting in Heaven to be reunited with his Mom. Margie was born on December 28, 1938, in Estes Park, Colorado to Evelyn (Dellavolpe) and William Moore. She was raised in Northern Colorado and moved to Denver where she graduated from West High School. As a teenager, Margie worked a variety of jobs including positions at St. Joseph’s Hospital, where her mom was a nurse. Following high school Margie began her career with Mountain Bell Telephone Company as an operator. She was a hard worker, and she was promoted to management, where she held a variety of positions. After 32 years of service Margie retired from Mountain Bell/AT&T. Margie met the love of her life, Woody, while gambling (another love of her life) at Mile High Kennel Club. They were married on November 18, 1969, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. They proudly raised two children, Craig and Kim. Together they had many adventures and enjoyed gambling, traveling, supporting various activities of their children and most recently, their almost daily trips for smothered burritos and Margie’s favorite ice cream, double raspberry concrete mixers. Margie loved her family, Alan Jackson songs, shopping, gambling, gardening, and watching TV dramas, especially police and fire shows. In addition to being a devoted wife, mother, and adventurer, Margie was always a leader in both her personal and professional lives. She was fiercely loyal to everything she cared about and not at all afraid to speak her mind. She will be remembered for willingness to help others, her thoughtfulness, sense of humor, easy laugh, and feisty spirit. She is survived by her husband Woody Cochran of Loveland, CO, her daughter Kim (Kristen) Cochran-Ward of Timnath, CO, her son, Craig (Cathy) Moore of Apopka, FL, her four grandchildren: Bailey Ward, Jessamyn (Rigel) Jimenez De Castro, Dalton Wilson and Evan Wilson, and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Scotty, her sisters Bonnie and Lou, and her infant son, Andrew. The family will be hosting visitation at Viegut Funeral Home in Loveland, CO, on Monday, December 5th from 4-7pm. On Tuesday, December 6th at 11:00am, there will be a memorial service and reception at Heart of the Rockies Christian Church in Fort Collins, CO. In lieu of flowers, Margie’s family requests donations in her honor to the Lupus Foundation of America or the Telephone Pioneers of America.
