Genevieve Glover peacefully went home to be with Jesus on June 16, 2023, in Franklin, TN. Genevieve was born in Rocky Ford, Colorado on July 11, 1931 to George Clifford Scofield and Anna Laura (Newby) Scofield. She was the second of six children. She grew up on a farm west of Loveland, the present location of Hearts and Horses. She went to Big Thompson School and graduated from Loveland High School in 1949. After high school, she met her future husband, Bud, and they were married on December 9, 1950. They celebrated 69 years of marriage together until Bud’s death in 2019. In their early years of marriage, Bud’s construction profession took them to South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, and Dillon Colorado until they returned to the Loveland community in 1961 to establish their permanent home, where they could raise their three children. Genevieve occasionally worked a few weeks in the summer at the cherry factory, and she worked for a few years at Hewlett Packard, but she was at heart a homemaker. She was skilled at sewing, upholstery, and cooking. She sewed Sunday sport coats for her seven grandsons, and prepared feasts for frequent family gatherings. Her life revolved around family. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. Her extended family was a network of important friendships. Genevieve was a valued, long time member of Grace Community Church. She taught Sunday school, kept the church books, served in the nursery, volunteered to be the unofficial “mom” to many youth, and never missed a Sunday. After Bud’s passing, she moved to Brookdale Assisted Living and then moved with Gary (son) and Kara Glover to live with them in Franklin TN. Genevieve is survived by her two children: Gary (Kara) Glover of Franklin TN, and Pam (Scott) Bruns of Wheelersburg, OH; grandsons Ben (Lindsey) Glover, Matt (Gabrielle) Glover, Josh (Marina) Glover, John (Jenn) Glover, Brock (Holly) Glover, Josiah (Brooke) Bruns, Tim (Amy) Bruns, and Jared (Marie) Bruns; 16 great grandchildren. Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband, Bud, her son, David, and her daughter, Carol Anne. A celebration of her life will be held at Grace Community Church at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 240 Barberry Place. Burial will immediately follow with a luncheon at the church afterward. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a scholarship fund for underprivileged children to attend summer camp at Scioto Hills Christian Camp and Retreat Center, 1009 Martin Road, Wheelersburg, OH 45694.
