Gary L. Gross
September 8th, 1945 - November 9th, 2021
Gary L. Gross 9/8/1945 – 11/9/2021 Gary is survived by his wife Linda, his daughter Elizabeth Love, and his son Mark Gross, his grandchildren Katie Schmid and Zach Schmid. Gary moved to Beaverton when he was 2 years old and then moved to Hillsboro in 1977. He graduated from Sunset High School. He then went to Western Business College. He worked at Tektronix for 22 years as a Computer Programmer where his grandson now works following in his footsteps as a Software Engineer. He spent another 10 years in the tech industry before moving into banking in the local area where he met many people and he recognized your faces when he was out and about frequently starting conversations with those he had grown to know. Gary was very musical. He played the trumpet in school, the piano, the organ, and taught himself the accordion. He taught the piano and organ, played at church, was a choir director and enjoyed going to church. One of his favorite times of year was the Vacation Bible School at Bethlehem Lutheran Church where he volunteered to work with children again after his family had grown. He volunteered at Witch Hazel Elementary, the Girl Scouts, and the Boy Scouts because he was always a part of his family’s programs in some capacity. He loved to bake and can goods. He wanted to bake bread for everyone and shared his delicious treats with everyone who crossed his path. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Bethlehem Lutheran Church/VBS to continue this program for a few more years at no cost to the children’s families. It would make him very happy.
