### Obituary: Frances Nora Wilson

**Frances Nora Wilson**  October 4, 1940 - June 11, 2024

Frances Nora Wilson, born in Chicago, Illinois, on October 4, 1940, peacefully passed away at the age of 83 on June 11, 2024, at her home in Tucson, Arizona, surrounded by her loving children.

Frances spent her early years in Chicago as the beloved daughter of Peter Martini and Nora Wilson and one of six siblings, including Peter, Mary, Jim, Dorothy, and Margie. In her younger years, she worked for Chicago Title and Trust as a receptionist. She later briefly pursued a career in real estate but spent most of her time raising her children.

She married her first husband, John Kress Groenier, on October 21, 1961, and together they had three wonderful children: John Kress Groenier II, Steven Wade Groenier, and Lisa Jean May. Frances was a devoted and loving mother, dedicating much of her life to raising her children. She enjoyed painting ceramics, sewing, bowling, and planting flowers every spring.

In 1988, she moved to Missouri and resided on Lake of the Ozarks where she would eventually meet Joseph Henry Wilson whom she married July 6, 1996. Splitting time between Lake of the Ozarks and Arizona, they loved boating, fishing, country dancing, golfing, and time with friends.  Surprise, AZ became her permanent home where she and Joe lived out the rest of their lives together playing on golf leagues with their friends and summers in their RV in Pinetop, Arizona where she loved fishing with Joe and playing poker machines at the local casino.

In July 2023, Frances moved to Tucson, Arizona, to be closer to her daughter Lisa, where she spent her final months in the comfort of her home. Frances is survived by her children, John K. Groenier, Steven Wade Groenier, and Lisa Jean May, and her cherished grandchildren: Lindsey Jean May, Skyler Lynn Niemeyer and her husband Teagan Michael Niemeyer, and Dylan Wade Groenier.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Henry Wilson, her parents, and her siblings.

Frances will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family, her generosity, her artistic talents, her strength, her beauty, and her zest for life. She leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and cherished memories.

Frances will be cremated and will rest beside her sister Mary in Sun City, Arizona.

A private family service will be held to honor her memory.
