Richard Webster Hubbard III

Richard Webster Hubbard III, born July 8, 1954 passed away on Monday August 25, 2014. He graduated from South Mecklenburg High School in 1972 and went on to CPCC and Montreat Anderson College. Rich worked in the family business, ABC Rental Center with his parents Diane and Dick Hubbard and siblings Cindy and Scott. There were very few mechanical problems that Rich couldn"t fix either at work or for his friends and neighbors. He was very at home in his shop surrounded by his tools and taking on one of many projects. He had a big heart, always willing to help and was a kind and caring friend to those who knew him. He was a man who loved all living things. He volunteered for many years at the Carolina Raptor Center assisting in the rehabilitation of wounded birds. Rich also loved to be at Morrow Mountain State Park under a special tree known as Grandfather. Music was one of Rich"s passions and he loved to listen to his collection in his home studio so he could enjoy the depth of the music that was so meaningful in his life. Rich is survived by his sister; Cindy and husband Bruce Grier, and his brother; Scott and wife Julie Hubbard. He adored and was adored by his niece; Shellie and nephews; Stephen, James and Tyler. Other special people in his life were his Uncle Bob Hubbard and wife Nancy Milling, cousin; Rob Hubbard and wife Megan Daly and their children; Noah and Nell. Rich"s family would like to give special thanks to all his neighbors who loved Rich and treated him like family. Their kindness and friendship meant a great deal to him. A memorial service will take place at St. John"s Episcopal Church, 1623 Carmel Road, Charlotte at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 13, 2014. The family will receive friends following the service. J.B.
