Robert Ray Malone, 84, of Charlotte, went peacefully with Jesus on the morning of June 18. He is survived by Nancy, his wife of 63 years and their two children, Kelly Malone and Nanette Holton, seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Bobbi Jean Setzer. Upon graduation from high school he served in the U.S. Army. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BS in accounting. He worked for various companies over the years and retired from Jameson Inc. Bob was an active member of the YMCA. He was family and friend to many refugees from Viet Nam known as Montagnards. He was also involved as an associate member of Wycliffe Bible Translators. A Celebration of his Life is planned for Sunday June 25, 2017 at 4pm at Grace Church in Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund at Grace Church, 2007 Stallings Rd., Harrisburg, NC 28075 or Montagnard Alliance Church, 3215 Westerwood Dr., Charlotte, NC 28214.
