Betty Lou Hall Deason

Betty Lou Hall Deason, 84, died November, 20, 2017, at Carrington Place Nursing Home in Matthews, NC. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, November, 25 at 2:00 PM at Sardis Baptist Church, 5811 Sardis Road, Charlotte, NC 28270. A visitation will immediately follow the service. She was born December 31, 1932 in Hamptonville, NC to Richard and Nellie Hall. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, taking care of others (especially babies and children), reading, traveling, and doting on her two poodles (Gigi and Buffy). Betty was a great cook with her specialty being homemade chocolate pie. She was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church, where she enjoyed caring for the children in the nursery. She worked at Chet Snow Realty and in the pre-school program at Myers Park United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her brothers, Hubert and Howard; and sister, Helen Brown. She is survived by her sister, Anne Hinkle; son, Richard (Jean); daughter, Betsy Johnston (Billy); grandchildren, Lauren Wade, Brittany Weise, Charles Deason, and Bailey Johnston; five great-grandchildren: Patrick, Peyton, Charlie, Caroline, and James; and sister-in-law, Dianne Deason Gardner. Special acknowledgment and thanks to Betty's niece, Lisa Alexander, and her daughter, Kelsey Caldwell, for their loving care during Betty's struggles with memory loss. The family would also like to thank the caregivers at Carrington Place and with Seniors Helping Seniors for their compassionate care.
