John Keane

John Walter Keane, age 69, of Charlotte, passed away Monday, July 4, 2022. He was born on April 29, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois, the second son of the late James and Suzanne Keane. He moved to Charlotte in 1972 with his family and graduated from UNCC in 1977. John worked a number of jobs, but his favorite was in customer service at the Charlotte Observer, where he worked for ten years. He is survived by his siblings Ginny Mehltretter (Keith), Matt Keane (Becky), Nora King (Gary), Tim Keane, Rita Braswell (Scott), Joe Keane (Anne), Mary Harrington (Charles), Pat Keane (Joan), Sue Edmonds, Margaret Martin (Jeff), and Jim Keane (Joann), and numerous nieces and nephews. John was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, and his passing saddens us. We are glad to know that he is now reunited with his loving mom and dad. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday 7/12/22 at 11 AM at St. Gabriel Catholic Church with burial following at Evergreen Cemetery.
