Bennie Jo Reel
June 26th, 1927 - August 1st, 2013
Bennie Jo Reel Bennie Jo Davis Reel, 86 died on August 1, 2013. She was born on June 26, 1927 in Charlotte North Carolina. She was a graduate of Central High School and High Point College and did graduate work at Winthrop, Duke and UNCC. She taught in the Winston Salem and Charlotte city schools. Bennie Jo grew up at Dilworth Methodist Church. She has been an active member of Sardis Presbyterian Church since 1961. Many of her interests and her activities over the years revolved around her children and grand children and caring for others. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Bennie Jo enjoyed travel and traveled extensively with her husband Gene Reel, around the world and all of the 50 United States. Bennie Jo adored her husband, her children and her grandchildren. All of her friends were never in doubt as to how she felt about her grand boys. She is survived by her daughter Mary Douglas Bencivengo and her husband Richard Bencivengo and her two grand children, Samuel Davis and Luke Travis Bencivengo of Santa Monica California. Mrs Reel was preceeded in death, by her parents Mary Jo McCombs Davis and Benjamin Douglas Davis and by her husband Gene L. Reel and son Benjamin Kevin Reel. There will be a celebration of Bennie Jo Reel's life at 2 PM Sunday August 4th at Sardis Presbyterian Church with Reverend Dr. J. Thomas Kort and Reverend Dr. Jane B. Fobel officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Private internment will be in the church cemetary prior to the service. Additionally a gathering for prayer and celebration of Bennie Jo"s life will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, August 5, 2013 at Plantation Estates. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Sardis Presbyterian Church, 6100 Sardis Road, Charlotte NC. 28270 or to a charity of the donor"s choice. Arrangements are in the care of J.B Tallent.
